Botryoidal Purple Chalcedony (Grape Agate)
This specimen is 5.5"x 4" wide and 4.5" tall This specimen is from Sulawesi Barat Province Sulawesi, Indonesia. This is a 3 sided floater in almost perfect condition as you can see in the pictures. This is a killer specimen.

Chalcedony is a microcrystalline form of quartz. Most agates and jaspers are Chalcedony. However in the gemstone trade the term Chalcedony is used to describe translucent stones of a singular color. Often blue to blue-gray, grays, purples, oranges and so on. This specimen is also botryoidal. Hense the name grape agate. The picture of this specimen shows a bunch of light dots. The light dots come from little druzy quartz crystals that cover this specimen.
