Chrysocolla was used in the West like turquoise for jewelry, but pure chrysocolla free of quartz is rather fragile and likely to crack. However, Chrysocolla is often "agatized" in chalcedony quartz. The quartz provides the stone with its polish and durability. This specimen is great on all sides. We have included several pictures for this specimen. Even a close up to show not just the druzy but also the intricate swirls and blends that are in this beautiful specimen.
