Bloodstone

Most of us think Bloodstone to be a form of green and red jasper. When it is actually an opaque form of microcrystalline quartz. The green body color is a result of dense inclusions, composed of chlorite or hornblende needles. The red spots and sometimes yellow streaks are iron oxide inclusions. Bloodstone has been used as a gemstone for many centuries.
