Labradorite sterling silver Pendant

Originally found on the Canadian peninsula of Labrador, Labradorite is a beautiful gemstone that has a play of color much like precious opal. However the play of color in Labradorite comes from tiny fractures that refract light through the layers of the stone. This type of iridescence in gemstone is actually called labradorescense. Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar group of minerals. Which makes it a cousin to two other other flashy gemstones, Moonstone and Sunstone.
