Carrisite & Morrisonite Jaspers

Carrasite is another Jasper from the Owyhee Mountains in Eastern Oregon. Carrasite was found near the famous Morrisonite claim, by Charlie Carras, in the 1970's. It's hard to distinguish Carrasite from Morrisonite. However Carrasite is still being mined by Steve Schultz. Whereas the Morrisonite is pretty much played out. Morrisonite is one of the finest porcelain jaspers there is. Found in the  Owyhee Breaks in the Southeast corner of Oregon. James Morison was the ranch owner who the gem was named after by Dudley Stewart of Stewart's gem shop in Boise Idaho.
