Albite is a member of the Plagioclase Feldspar Group. The group is an isomorphous solid solution series. Albite is one end member, containing sodium and no calcium. The other end member is Anorthite which contains calcium and no sodium. This is nice size Albite Crystal. The picture of the back side shows that it is one large crystal. The striations on the surface of the crystal are very interesting. They were Probably formed at the end of the process as the sodium was depleated from the solution. Throw in a nice big quartz crystal, some lepidolite mica and a few shorl crystals and you end up with a great specimen. This specimen is from Minas Gerais, Brazil.
