Gold Stone & Other Glass

Goldstone is a special man made glass contaning tiny crystals of copper. Goldstone requires special conditions to form. The silica, copper oxide and other metal oxides are mixed together to form tiny copper crystals in the glass. The mixture is heated than sealed off from the air and kept at just the right temprature to let the copper crystals form. The best material is found near the center of the mass. A semitransparent glass with bright copper crystals suspended in it. The most common color of goldstone is a redish-brown. It also comen in green, blue and purple.
